The members of the public may address the Board on any item on this agenda. Pursuant to §3.2B of the Board’s bylaws, public participation at a meeting must be pre-scheduled and pre-approved by the Chairman. To obtain approval to speak at a Board Meeting, please contact Nikki Charlson at 410-269-2843 or by email email@example.com no later than 5:00 pm the day before the meeting.
At this time, the State Board of Elections Meetings are being held by conference call and can be heard through a live stream video link that is accessed from the front page shortly before the scheduled meeting time. Public comments for the Board must be provided in writing and can be sent by email to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com. To ensure time for review, written comments should be received no later than 5:00 pm the day before the meeting.
Notice of Action
At its June 22, 2021, 2 pm meeting, the State Board of Elections (SBE) will consider adoption of Regulations 33.11.02.03, 33.11.03.06, 33.11.05.07 – Absentee Ballots and 33.17.04.03 & .06 – Early Voting. 33.11.02.03 incorporates information needed to apply for an electronic ballot into an additional section of regulations (previously adopted for another regulation.) 33.11.03.06 codifies the requirement that local boards notify voters who return an unsigned ballot. 33.11.05.07 aligns the regulation with legislation that repealed the requirement to reject a ballot if the voter died before election day (this section had not been updated.) 33.17.04.03 aligns regulation with contingency policy and .06. authorizes collection of absentee ballots at early voting centers and polling places. The Board will also consider adoption of a revised Absentee/Mail-In Ballot Application.
The meeting will be held through GoToMeeting and live streamed but public input is limited with approval of the Chairman. Requests to address the Board and submission of written public comment should be submitted by 5 pm the day prior to the meeting and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Notice of Action
: At its May 27, 2021, 2 pm meeting, the State Board of Elections (SBE) will consider adoption to Regulations 33.05 – Voter Registration and 33.11.02 – Absentee Ballots to incorporate the new requirement that a signature applied by a Common Access Card can be used to request a ballot (proposed §B(1)(b)) and correct a drafting error. The new requirement is a result of Senate Bill 283
and House Bill 156
of the 2021 Legislative Session (“Student and Military Voter Empowerment Act”). The meeting will be held through Gotomeeting and live streamed. Requests to address the Board and submission of written public comment should be submitted and sent to email@example.com.
