PRIMARY ELECTION | JUNE 23, 2026

The Democratic and Republican Parties use primary elections to choose their candidates for the general election. Generally, only registered voters affiliated with the Democratic or Republican Parties may vote in that party's primary election.

Registering to vote and selecting your party affiliation only takes a minute. You can do it online, by mail, or in person at select locations. All you need is a driver’s license or ID card, or the last four digits of your social security number.

Not Sure if You're Registered?

Use our online tool to check your mail-in or provisional ballot status, view your sample ballot, review your voter registration record, or request a duplicate voter registration card. You can also find your polling place, voting district, and local board of elections.

Consider Becoming an Election Judge

If you want to help empower your community, consider becoming an election judge. You'll help set up your polling place, check in voters, and make sure voting runs smoothly. It's a paid position, and students can earn service hours. No experience is necessary—we'll provide all the training you need.

Make a Plan

Voting comes with a lot of questions, so it’s good to have a plan. Use our checklist to make sure you're ready for the primary election, or download our new app to get voting information right in your pocket.
