Public Information Act requests

The SBE will evaluate each request for public records* and respond as fully and promptly as we can. However, due to the extenuating circumstances and our need to focus on preparing for the upcoming elections, requests may not be completed within statutory timeframes. *A “public record” is any “documentary material” that SBE or an LBE either makes, or receives, as part of “transact[ing] public business” §4-101(k). Public records include original pieces of paper, copies, digital materials, maps, and communications. A public record does not include answers to specific questions, general data or reports not generated in the course of public business.
