When must petition groups register as political committees?
- New Party: when petition process has been completed and the Constitution and Bylaws have been approved
- Nominating: prior to the collection of the first signature and any financial activitry for the candidacy
- Statewide Referendum: prior to the collection of the first signature for the petition effort and any fiancial activity associated with the petition effort; whichever is eariler
- Public Local Law Referendum: prior to the collection of the first signature for the petition effort and any fiancial activity associated with the petition effort; whichever is eariler .
- Charter Amendment: prior to the collection of the first signature for the petition effort and any fiancial activity associated with the petition effort; whichever is eariler
- Local Referendum: rior to the collection of the first signature for the petition effort and any fiancial activity associated with the petition effort; whichever is eariler
What types of petitions require the Petition Fund Reports besides the normal campaign finance reports?
A petition fund report is a campaign finance report due for ballot issue committees attempting to bring a question to the ballot.

When is the Petition Fund Report required to be filed?
- New Party: n/a

- Statewide Referendum: at time of filing each set of petitions
- Public Local Law Referendum: at time of filing each set of petitions
- Charter Adoption: at time of filing each set of petitions
- Charter Amendment: at time of filing each set of petitions
- Local Referenda: regulated by county charter or local laws
If in oppposition to the petition effort- a campaign finance report is due 10 days after the peitition sponosor file the petition fund report.
